Google Touts Game-Changing Online Art Display

Other sites covered this story far earlier, but I personally am very excited about Google's launch today of a new online art display. One of my personal goals is to see the Mona Lisa at the Louvre and pay a visit to the Neues Museum.

17 Museums will be taking part in Google's project. Each one will select one artwork to be photographed using gigapixel photo capturing technology, which will be then placed online in a virtual tour featuring unprecedented detail.

Google VP Nelson Mattos states the project would allow children from Latin American, India and Africa to come close to seeing the real thing.   Yep, them and ordinary Joe's living in America. You gotta love the Internet age.

Catalytic Clothing Now Seen As Possible Way to Crowd-Source Environmental Tasks

The University of Sheffield has created an evening gown dubbed "Herself" capable of cleaning the air around the wearer.  While the dress is actually presented more as a work of art rather than an actual wearable line of clothing, it has sparked new feasibility speculation on the possibilities of technology embedded in clothing to accomplish various environmental tasks. 

However, one can only imagine the number of ladies willing to wear an evening gown made of "sprayed concrete" (Lady Gaga comes to mind) or figure out what the cleaning instructions might be.
