Former Van Halen Singer Sammy Hagar Claims Alien Abduction

by WZ on March 21, 2011 0 Comments

I'm agnostic on UFO conspiracy stuff, but that won't stop me from at least looking at it. Sammy Hagar recently published a book called "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock" where he talks about a dream he suffered regarding aliens. Not knowing any better, the interviewer at MTVHive.com asked for clarification and got back a completely unexpected answer.

Yeah, yeah, I’ve got the page right here. “I saw a ship and two creatures inside of this ship… And they were connected to me, tapped into my mind through some kind of mysterious wireless connection.” You’re telling me that wasn’t a dream?

That’s right. It was real. [Aliens] were plugged into me. It was a download situation. This was long before computers or any kind of wireless. There weren’t even wireless telephones. Looking back now, it was like, “F**k, they downloaded something ...

Happy Pi Day! What Does Pi Sound Like?

by WZ on March 14, 2011 0 Comments

Today is Pi Day. What makes it Pi Day? Because today's date is 3.14. Pi is a mathematical constant defining the ratio between a circle's diameter and its circumference. It's also a transcendental number, meaning that it's impossible to represent Pi as a finite sequence of numbers.

In a tribute to this glorious number, a Canadian musician has decided to use diatonic scales on various musical instruments to illustrate what mathematical music may sound like.

You Gotta Love YouTube - Charlie Sheen Edition

by WZ on March 9, 2011 0 Comments

Okay, I know everyone is sick of hearing about Charlie Sheen everywhere, but this video is literally full of win...or as Sheen would say "Winning!"

An inventive YouTuber satirizes Charlie Sheen's interviews by "songifying" them.

It hit me...Charlie Sheen is kind of like a real-life Barney Stinson.

New Band Sugarwall Covers "Under the Milky Way"

by WZ on March 8, 2011 0 Comments

I ran across this music video on YouTube a few days ago. It's a new band covering one of my favorite songs "Under the Milky Way" by The Church.  It's the kind of song that you remember if you happen to be going through an interesting romantic relationship when you first hear it.

The cult movie DONNIE DARKO introduced this song to me back in the day, and so whenever I run across it, I feel obligated to play it a few times.

The video had only a few thousand views when I first clicked. Looks like Sugarwall is about to go viral and maybe get these talented guys some serious attention.

Eminem Becomes Most "Liked" Person on Facebook

by WZ on February 25, 2011 0 Comments

Yep, let's not forget the little quotation marks.

Love him or hate him...and apparently most of you love him... the 38 year-old rapper Eminem has become the most "Liked" person on Facebook, boasting 28.88 million likes and gaining half a million each day. The late great Michael Jackson still has more likes. Eminem ranks as the #1 living person on Facebook. Lady Gaga is close behind with 28.87 likes. However, she's the most popular person on Twitter, boasting 5 million more followers than Eminem.

Much of Eminem's recent popularity stems from his buzz from the Grammys.

Rapper P.Diddy Sued For 1 Trillion Dollars & Causing 9/11

by WZ on January 29, 2011 0 Comments

This lady should've sued P. Diddy for 1 zillion dollars instead.  Oh wait...

"Turks also alleges that Diddy, real name Sean Combs, caused the 9/11 attacks, put her son in hospital and sold a poker chip belonging to her, which she says was worth 100 zillions of dollars".

Man, I'm working in the wrong business.

In other entertainment news, Autobot leader Optimus Prime has also filed suit against P. Diddy for the destruction of the planet Cybertron. Darth Sidious also wants damages for P. Diddy blowing up the Death Star...TWICE...which cost him about 10 zillion dollars each.

The judge has set a January 31 court date for the case to be heard.

"How much?!"

"Beginner" By AKB48 - The Current #1 Song in Japan

by WZ on January 24, 2011 0 Comments

This post is for Solomon who...inexplicably...and incomprehensibly...feels entertained by these kinds of J-Pop videos.  "Beginner" is the first song in Japan to sell over 1 million copies in the last 3 and 1/2 years. The previous song to pass the million mark was released back in 2007.

These girl singers must be awesome, right?!

I think this is the official video, just in case the above one gets yanked.

Lady Gaga's Ultra-Cool Camera Glasses

by WZ on January 8, 2011 0 Comments

Love her or hate, you have to admit...those glasses are f***ing awesome. Those who follow Lady Gaga even a little bit know that she's obsessed with connecting with her hardcore fans. To this end, the Lady Gaga GL20 Camera Glasses built by Polaroid are part of a gadget set custom-designed to allow her fans to experience her concerts the way she does.

The set comes with an instant mobile printer and an instant digital camera, as well.  But, we're just going to focus on the glasses here. The GL20 is basically her homemade custom glasses, but adapted by Polaroid for mass purchase. They contain mini-LCD monitors, and a camera capable of Bluetooth and video. The flash memory will probably be contained in the ear prongs...somehow.

Polaroid has also apparently taken on Lady Gaga has a creative director. She states:

"I consider myself to be a ...

Emerson College Celebrates its First Graduating Class Majoring in Lady Gaga

by WZ on December 14, 2010 0 Comments

'Cause what else were all these students doing the entire semester?  All humor side, this Lady Gaga tribute video is honestly a cinematic accomplishment.   There seems to be only one edit throughout the entire 7 minute running time, requiring an enormous amount of choreography involving lots of people probably not accustomed to working on camera.

Excellent work.  I dub them all fellow Cooligans in spirit.
